The aroma of the wine is very light with a peach undertone. It brings a wonderful body of peaches, pears, lemon and a little sweetness from pineapples. The sweetness is not over powering and adds just enough to the finish to keep you wanting another taste. The wine retails for $18 but you can usually find it on sale for around $15 a bottle. -KM

Great wine for the price. by Andy R. 12/28/2008 Would you buy again: Yes
I had this wine at a steak house. It's very good with a aroma of blackberries, cherries and plums. The wine was smooth with a clean finish. The flavors were of plum and cherries with ripe, dark fruit flavor. The wine has a good balance though.

The wine will pair well with oysters, shrimp and white fish.

Price: $11.50 Maker: Murphy-Goode Varietal: Sauvignon Blanc Region: California

The Murphy-Goode Sauvignon Blanc or "The Fume" as they call it is delightful showing for 2007. It is fresh and crisp with flavors of pear, pineapple and a touch of lemon on the finish. The wine is well balanced with enough acidity to pair well with a wide range of foods but our taste buds were screaming for seafood! With a retail price of 11.50 this wine is a steal!

9. PromisQous California 2007
Price: $12.00 Maker: PromisQous Varietal: Red Blends Region: California

This is a perfect example of why we do blind tastings, the PromisQous Red wine is a delightful blend of Zinfandel, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah and a small amount of other red grapes from California. We are rarely impressed with wines that have a catchy name but we were thrilled with this wine that sells at local Target stores for $12 a bottle. The wine is packed with flavors of black cherry, blackberries and strawberry jam with a long smooth finish. It is perfect for any occasion and is an instant conversation starter at any party. Pick up a bottle the next time you are shopping at Target, you will be happy you did.

Beautiful straw-yellow color. Full of apple, lemon and subtle vanilla aromas. A medium-bodied wine leads to a flavorful finish with balanced, tasty citrus and tropical fruit and lively acidity. The great balance of flavor and acidity set this wine up for a broad range of food and wine pairings with seafood dishes topping the list.
